We love The Pokolodi Lodge so much we have been coming here since the 1990s. Why? The Pokolodi is the best value at one of the world’s best ski resorts, Snowmass Mountain. The Pokolodi is an impeccably managed and maintained classic ski lodge in the heart of Snowmass village. The lodge has a fantastic lobby/lounge where friendly guests drink wine by the fire and play games with their families. In the morning, a complimentary breakfast is served in the sun-blessed lounge where skiers are dressed to hit the slopes. The staff is warm and welcoming. The clean, quiet and comfortable rooms are appointed with newer furniture and comfortable beds. The large outdoor pool & hot tub is the perfect place to apres-ski with a beer and friends, watching the snow fall. All of that makes for an excellent ski trip but the biggest advantage of the Pokolodi is the location, location, location. Located only 15 minutes from the Aspen airport, the Pokolodi has a complimentary shuttle, negating the need for a rental car. Once you arrive, the ski slopes are a 5-minute walk. Even closer are the restaurants & shops of the Snowmass Village Mall, directly across the street and up a flight of stairs from the front door. Also, across the street are the free village shuttles and the free buses to the town of Aspen, Ajax Mountain (Aspen), Aspen Highlands & Buttermilk. Oh, and don’t get me started about Summers in Aspen/Snowmass…
For the price, this place is great. Rooms are comfy, pool and jacuzzi is well kept, and staff is friendly. The location is FANTASTIC Definitely will be back!
The Pokolodi is the last vestige of what it was like to stay in Snow Mass in the vintage years. It is a classic no-frills-but-great-vibe woody lodge with a fantastic, kind staff, super clean rooms, nice cozy public space to hang in...and for those who ski, it is SUPER near the lifts (I was surprised). Amazing something like this still exists in the crazed world of Aspen/Snowmass.
Had a great stay! The rooms were clean, the breakfast was great, and the staff were kind and friendly. The location was excellent as well. The only downside was that our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay, and the trash bins were left full.
Dave and his team were absolutely wonderful and very welcoming. Highly recommend!! Our trip out to CO really started out rough. Unexpectedly we needed a room for a couple nights because the heat in the camper we had rented would not stay on through the night, in the freezing temps and we were miserable. We came across the Pokolodi Lodge and crossed our fingers. Upon arrival we were a little nervous as parking a camper was no easy task especially with the Winter X Games (the whole reason we were there to begin with) happening not too far from the lodge, we worried we wouldn't have any luck finding a spot big enough. We parked out front, checked in, and right away Dave and his team were quick to help us figure out a solution, and we knew we were in good hands. First off the room smelled & looked amazing. It was clean and cozy. The bed was huge and very comfortable. We even had a patio looking right out into the mountains! (Who doesn't want to wake up to that view?!) The breakfast was delicious. They were constantly checking to make sure everything was staying fresh and filled for new guests joining the breakfast crowd. I wish we had more time to stay, explore and enjoy the Snowmass village. I'm looking forward to next years Winter X Games and staying at the Pokolodi Lodge again!!
Hard to complain about this place. You have to consider that almost everything is more expensive in this part of the country. They do have complimentary bus service to different parts of the community, but hotels, restaurants, groceries, etc. are not cheap. This is the primary reason we chose this hotel - good reviews for the price. We were there during the off season (September), hence, the hotel was not nearly full. I would guess mostly empty, so the 'noise' issue some complain about may or may not be true. It is an older hotel, but it is VERY WELL MAINTAINED. They still use the old fashioned keys. The complimentary breakfast did have waffles, but no eggs. The people working there would go the extra mile to answer questions and are friendly. The room was in very good condition - the beds were very comfortable. The TV had two remotes - took a while to get used to, but really not there to watch TV, right? The manager (in my pictures) was there to greet us when we arrived. I would stay here again, without hesitation.
We had a great stay at the Pokolodi Lodge this past July. One draw back is the lack of AC in the summer- we were travelling with our 1 & 3yo, so would have benefited from better temp control. Thankfully the windows open wide and the area felt safe to do so. The kids and us LOVED the pool, and walking distance to a bunch of pick up was great. The front desk staff, see photo, were adorable and we would stay again for a stay in the Snowmass/Aspen area
